Data protection
Cynteract GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “Cynteract”) takes the protection of personal data very seriously and aligns data processing with the goal of collecting, processing or using only the personal data necessary for the meaningful use of the services offered. Cynteract has implemented technical and organizational measures to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Personal data includes all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. When we process personal data, we collect, store, transmit, delete, or use it in another way.
When you register in the Cynteract Control Center, we process information about you. This may include, for example, your email address. This information is essential for successful registration. Processing is carried out to perform pre-contractual measures at your request, by Article 6(1)(1)(b) of the GDPR. Information that is not necessary for the performance of the contract is processed based on your consent by Article 6(1)(1)(a) of the GDPR.
When you use the software, we process so-called usage data. For example, we log the application's connection to our servers. This includes, among other things, your email address (if you are logged in), the date and time of access, usage duration, accessed features, data volume transferred, and successful access, all stored in log files. Furthermore, Cynteract uses so-called tokens for authentication. Technically, these are equivalent to the cookies commonly used in internet browsers. Tokens are randomly generated unique numbers created by the device's operating system, and the device's identifier is also used. The token cannot be linked to the device outside the application, but it can be associated with the user account.
The logging of usage data is also carried out for statistical purposes, security purposes, and error correction. The basis for this processing is a balancing of interests according to Article 6(1)(1)(f) of the GDPR, which always takes your legitimate interests into account.
To protect your data, you have the following rights:
The limitations under Sections 34 and 35 of the BDSG apply to the rights of access and erasure. Additionally, you have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 of the GDPR in conjunction with Section 19 of the BDSG).
We generally store your data only as long as we need it to provide you with access to our products. This usually corresponds to when you have a valid user account with us. Your user account becomes invalid if you terminate a contract with us or if your usage period expires. Two months after the expiration of your user account's validity, all data associated with your user account and any data generated through support matters will be permanently deleted.
Furthermore, storage will only occur if we are legally obligated to do so (e.g., retention and documentation obligations) or to safeguard our legitimate interests.
If the processing of personal data is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(1)(a) of the GDPR or Article 9(2)(a) of the GDPR, you can withdraw this consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out based on the consent until the withdrawal.
Cynteract reserves the right to change this privacy policy. The current version of the privacy policy can be found on the website (www.cynteract.com).
